Sickness Management

When your team members are absent it places additional strain on the team. Whether it is short term sporadic occasions that are becoming a problem or those ongoing fit notes which seem to keep coming in I can help you manage the situation.


Sickness absence management has been an ongoing feature of my work in HR throughout the years. I will give you straightforward practical advice regarding management of your case, I can provide face to face or virtual support with meeting your employee and also assist with requesting medical/occupational health reports.

Grievance

Whether you have a formal grievance policy in place or not; any staff complaint should be dealt with promptly to avoid unnecessary ongoing disruption in the workplace. I can offer practical virtual or face to face support to deal with workplace conflict.


There is an expectation that employees have a mechanism to escalate concerns in the workplace. I have experience of all stages of grievance management and investigation. This includes activating the “protected conversation” process to exit problematic staff at very senior level through the settlement agreement process when relationships may have broken down to the point you deem it irreparable.

Discipline

As a business leader living in a more litigious world, the threat of an Employment Tribunal can sometime act as a barrier to addressing problematic employees.

Whether it is managing the probation period effectively or dealing with the poor performance of the “nice guy” who has been with you for 20 years I can support you with an effective way forward. With exposure to circa 10,000 employees throughout my career there are very few situations that will crop up that I have not worked through.
